With leftover Christmas money and vouchers and a smile on my face, I began to scour the sales and expand my ever-growing wardrobe. Here I will reveal some of the items I have bought over the last couple of months, and rate each item for its quality, fit, and fleekness.
TOPSHOP PETITE Flamingo Shirt, £32
Quality: 5/5
Fit: Oversized
Fleekness: 4/5
While this shirt is a little different for me, I absolutely love it, and see it as a versatile piece – as it can be worn over jeans, tucked into skirts, or open over a cami top. The embroidery is amazing quality and looks lush. However it is rather oversized, so I would suggest buying a smaller size than usual if you are on the short side.

NEW LOOK Khaki Jeans, £5 (Depop)
Quality: 4/5
Fit: 4/5
Fleekness: 3/5
A lovely staple item, rather different from usual blue or black jeans but a necessity none the less. Khaki is one of my favourite colours right now (as you will see when you scroll down), and these jeans go perfectly with muted colours, making for a great casual look. While the fit is slightly small for the size, they hug the body nicely and are a perfect skinny jean.

NEW LOOK Embroidered Leather Biker Jacket,
£44.99
Quality: 4/5
Fit: 5/5
Fleekness: 5/5
I LOVE this jacket. It is an absolute fave of mine. It can be dressed up or down, and is a nice on-trend twist on the basic biker. I am slightly obsessed with the embroidered trend at the minute, so show me any item with a few flowers embroidered on and I’ll probably buy it. This fits lovely, is true to size, and slays with almost any outfit.

I’m going to be honest, I haven’t actually worn these outside of the house yet (due to lack of social life, not because I don’t like them), but wearing them around my bedroom they looked pretty good. While Primark isn’t always in season, their stock now is pretty good, and these were just one of the many pairs of shoes I was desperate to buy in there. They would look great with jeans and a slouchy top for a casual look, or a more dressy top for a night out, so they have the potential to be a great staple item. Again they are KHAKI (the 2nd of 3 khaki items in this post), but if you’re not as in love with this shade as I am they also come in black. PRIMARK Cut Out Boots, £16

Quality: 5/5
Fit: Oversized
Fleekness: 4/5
While this one is a little more on the simple side, it is my favourite top right now (I am wearing it as I write this). Its simplicity makes it ideal to wear with jeans, denim skirts, under pinafores. With this top the world is your oyster. Well, almost. The fit is quite oversized, with hardly any difference between a size 6 and a 12, and its raw edge hems give it the no-effort kinda look. I wore this today with a denim pinafore and Adidas glitter trainers, and I felt good.
TOPSHOP PETITE Wild Heart T-shirt, £15

Quality: 5/5
Fit: N/A
Fleekness: 3/5
I have been looking for so long for a good quality bag that is big enough to carry my folders to and from uni without the straps breaking, and finally I have found it. It is sturdy and simple enough to wear with bold outfits, or can compliment a more basic outfit also. The quality is fantastic and the finishings add to the overall high-quality of the bag. Plus, did I mention already that khaki is so on-trend right now?!?! RIVER ISLAND Khaki Contrast Panel Bag, £32

Quality: 4/5
Fit: 4/5
Fleekness: 4/5
Metallic is an all time favourite of mine, and this slip dress is perf for a night out, worn alone or layered over a long sleeved mesh top. It looks great with chunky heels, and is an easy outfit to style and wear, so is ideal for when you’re getting ready in a hurry (as I always am). Its one downside is that it is noticeably longer than it appears on the picture; it reaches my knees, however I am only just above 5ft, but a quick whizz on the sewing machine will fix that no problem. Paired with the biker jacket pictured earlier in this post and you’re good to go!
RIVER ISLAND Foil Metallic Slip Dress,
£16.50 (ASOS)

Quality: 4/5
Fit: 5/5

For less than a fiver, I bagged this beauty in the sale thinking it would be OK for a cheap top, but it is actually really nice. It looks great with jeans and heels for a formal look, or swap the footwear for trainers and it looks fab as a casual top. I have always been a fan of double layered tops, and the halter neck is a nice addition that makes it appear much smarter than the typical cami, although the halter does cause some bra dilemmas NGL. The material is nice and floaty, but paired with a chunky cardigan and it can be worn this time of year too. For how little it cost it is a really great piece, not bad Boohoo.
